InstaPay Fees and Transfer Limits 2026 (Egypt)

Masroofak team • Updated

In shortAs of 22 October 2026, InstaPay charges 0.1% of the amount per transfer, with a minimum of EGP 0.50 and a maximum of EGP 20, a rule in force since 1 April 2025. Transfer limits are EGP 70,000 per transaction, EGP 120,000 per day and EGP 400,000 per month for each bank. Balance inquiries are free for the first 10 each month, then EGP 0.50 each.

InstaPay has become the easiest way to send money in Egypt: rent, a gam'eya (savings circle), money for family, or splitting a restaurant bill with friends. But since April 2025 it comes with a small fee. Here is exactly what you pay, the daily and monthly limits, and how to keep small transfers from quietly eating your month.

The figures here were checked as of 22 October 2026 against the official InstaPay website and Egyptian news outlets. Fees and limits can change with a new decision, so check the latest figure in the InstaPay app or with your bank before any large transfer. Masroofak is not affiliated with InstaPay or the Instant Payment Network in any way.

How much does InstaPay charge per transfer?

This rule has applied since 1 April 2025, and as of 22 October 2026 no change to it has been announced:

Before April 2025, transfers and inquiries had been free since the app launched in 2022.

Table: what will each transfer cost you?

Calculated with the rule above (0.1%, minimum EGP 0.50, maximum EGP 20):

Transfer amount0.1% of the amountActual fee
EGP 100EGP 0.10EGP 0.50 (minimum)
EGP 500EGP 0.50EGP 0.50
EGP 5,000EGP 5EGP 5
EGP 20,000EGP 20EGP 20 (maximum)
EGP 70,000EGP 70EGP 20 (maximum)

Two things stand out. Any transfer up to EGP 500 costs the same EGP 0.50, and any transfer of EGP 20,000 or more costs only EGP 20. So 10 small transfers of EGP 100 cost you EGP 5, while a single EGP 1,000 transfer costs you EGP 1.

InstaPay transfer limits: per day and per month

LimitAmount
Per transactionEGP 70,000
Per day (per bank)EGP 120,000
Per month (per bank)EGP 400,000

So if you need to send EGP 100,000, you will split it into two transactions (for example EGP 70,000 and EGP 30,000), each charged EGP 20, for a total of EGP 40. The limits apply to each bank registered in your app, and your bank may set a lower limit on your account, so check the limit in the app itself.

How to keep transfers from eating your month

The real problem isn't the EGP 0.50. It's that transferring is so easy you forget you did it. EGP 200 here, EGP 150 there, and by the end of the month you have no idea where the money went. A few habits fix that:

  1. Log every transfer when it happens. Not at the end of the week. A transfer you don't log drops out of the picture.
  2. Keep personal spending separate from bills. Rent, gam'eya and installments are one thing; outings and delivery orders are another. Mix them and you'll think you spent on essentials when you actually spent on fun.
  3. Note who and why. "InstaPay 300" means nothing a week later. "Half the dinner bill with Ahmed" does.
  4. Bundle small transfers to the same person. If you send to someone every few days, send once instead. You'll save on fees and, more importantly, have fewer transactions to keep track of.
  5. Review your week. Once a week, look at the total you transferred and compare it with what you planned.

Log a transfer from the bank SMS in seconds

Every InstaPay or wallet transfer comes with a message from your bank or wallet showing the amount and date. In Masroofak you don't have to type it again:

Step-by-step instructions are in logging expenses from bank and wallet SMS (Arabic). And if transfers drain your salary early, see making your salary last until the end of the month (Arabic).

Did the fees change in 2026?
