Egypt net salary calculator 2026
How it is calculated
- Social insurance: 11% of the insurable wage, kept between EGP 2,700 and 16,700 a month (from 1 January 2026).
- Annual taxable income: (gross − insurance) × 12 − personal exemption EGP 20,000, rounded down to the nearest 10.
- Income tax by bracket (Law 91/2005 as amended by Law 7/2024):
| Annual taxable income (EGP) | Rate |
|---|---|
| Up to 40,000 | 0% |
| 40,000 – 55,000 | 10% |
| 55,000 – 70,000 | 15% |
| 70,000 – 200,000 | 20% |
| 200,000 – 400,000 | 22.5% |
| 400,000 – 1,200,000 | 25% |
| Above 1,200,000 | 27.5% |
Above EGP 600,000 a year the lower brackets are phased out step by step (for example, between 600,000 and 700,000 the first 55,000 is taxed at 10% instead of 0%); the calculator applies this. The martyrs fund (Law 4/2021) takes 0.05% of the salary.
Example: gross EGP 15,000: insurance 1,650, annual taxable income 140,200, monthly tax 1,482.5, net about EGP 11,860.
